Local San Antonio Author Launches Second ‘Kid Comet’ Book to Inspire Boys to Read
San Antonio, TX — San Antonio children’s author Christopher Bodmann, resident and father of five, will release Kid Comet and the Seventh Grade Secret—the much-anticipated second installment in the Kid Comet trilogy—on August 18, 2025.
Building on the success of Kid Comet and the Sixth-Grade Shadow, Bodmann continues his mission to spark a love of reading in core middle‑grade audiences, especially boys. On his website, he shares that he is “particularly passionate about encouraging middle‑grade boys to become avid readers by incorporating ‘gateway’ topics that resonate with their interests.”
In The Seventh‑Grade Secret, readers follow Josh and the Comet Squad into darker territory—where towering lizard‑creatures, vanishing siblings, shady pharmaceuticals, and secret‑popping supervillains collide. Bodmann promises more “action, more powers, and more heart” as friendships are tested and a new hero emerges.
A Local Mission with Big Impact
Raised and still living here in San Antonio, Bodmann taps into his community roots as a source of inspiration. “Stories exist to inspire, drive action, and ignite passion,” he says. His storytelling goal? To help young readers build confidence and belief in themselves through engaging, relatable characters.
As a father of five, he understands firsthand the importance of fun, thrilling reads that can hold boys’ attention in a screen-dominated world.
